Responding to the 2025 CIAF theme Pay Attention!, artists Raidon Robinson, Kassandra Savage, Zane Saunders, and Peter B Morrison invite us to pause, reflect, and reconsider what we overlook. Each artist has developed a striking new body of printworks, editioned through NorthSite Press, using unexpected materials—tetra packs, takeaway coffee cups, and other everyday discarded materials of consumption.
Through this process, what is usually thrown away becomes a powerful tool for storytelling. The textures and surfaces of these humble materials are transformed into layered, compelling imagery that speaks to family, memory, place, spirituality and sustainability. These works are quiet yet insistent, asking us not only to pay attention—but to really see.
With ingenuity and care, these four artists offer new ways of seeing value in the overlooked, honouring Country and culture through the transformation of the ordinary into the extraordinary.
This new folio of works was editioned at NorthSite Art Studios in 2025, with collaborative printmaker Dian Darmansjah.
These new printworks are complimented by extraordinary sculptures by Yidinji Elder Roy Gray and Jo-Ann Beikoff, of Bunda Art who collaborate to create intricate totems from found objects, reclaimed natural materials and carved shells from the Giangurra beach on the edge of Gimuy Inlet. These assembled creations turn the unseen and discarded into statements of strength and creativity, that often document personal stories from Roy’s childhood.
