The Board of Directors and staff of NorthSite Contemporary Arts warmly invite you to attend the opening of Navigator Spirit Ark, a retrospective exhibition celebrating the life and career of the late Arone Raymond Meeks.

Navigator Spirit Ark brings together significant works from across Meeks’ artistic practice, offering a considered reflection on his enduring contributions to contemporary art. Through explorations of cultural transmission, ancestral knowledge and spiritual navigation, the exhibition honours Meeks’ legacy and the continuing resonance of his work. 

This retrospective has been curated in collaboration with Boomali Aboriginal Artists Co‑operative and the Arone Meeks Estate, with the project partnered with Cairns Indigenous Art Fair and supported by Arts Queensland.

Introduction to Country with Minjil: 1:15pm
A selection of short film extracts in the Bulmba-Ja Theatre, followed by a short Curators talk: 1:30pm
