Join us in a celebration of nature with the opening of two magical solo exhibitions; Kim Nolan‘s Moments and Kate Hunter‘s Floral Oxygen. Spend time with the artists and their work on their opening weekend, with artist talks from both Kim and Kate in the gallery.
Kim Nolan Moments | Artist Talk – 12pm
Kim’s collection of ceramic wall tiles depicts a micro view of her environment showcasing intricate details, which when viewed as a collection create an abstract landscape of colours and textures. A body of work that captures individual moments, that when placed together on the wall that give the viewer a different perspective.
Kate Hunter Floral Oxygen | Artist Talk – 12:30pm
With a fascination for different materials Kate Hunter works in metals, ceramics, fibres, textiles, found objects – whatever she needs to tell an intended story. She lives on the edge of a mangrove estuary in Cairns, Queensland, and her body of work ‘Floral Oxygen’ is in response to her experience of the record flooding in Cairns.
