On behalf of the Board of Directors, Acting Director Hamish Sawyer, Director Ashleigh Campbell and the NorthSite team, you are invited to attend the opening event of ‘e VULVA lution’ by India Collins and ‘Sweet Nostalgia’ by Regi Cherini.
Enter the fleshy site-specific, multi-sensory installation by Cairns-based artist India Collins. This installation knits together existing works by Collins with new technologies, and digital and material responses.
Plus experience local enigma Regi Cherini’s meticulously hand-embroidered artworks in ‘Sweet Nostalgia’.
Meet at NorthSite Galleries at Bulmba-ja Arts Centre for Welcome to Country followed by experience of the artworks, informal speeches from the artists and light refreshments. A cash bar will be operating + DJ.

‘e VULVA lution’ by India Collins was developed in partnership with NorthSite Contemporary Arts and Situate Art in Festivals and is part of a two-year research and development process that will grow in scale and scope, to present the next multi-sensory installation ‘re VULVA lution’ within the public sphere in 2024. This project is supported by The Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Cairns Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
Regi Cherini’s ‘Sweet Nostalgia’ is a NorthSite project space exhibition to support and develop emerging contemporary artistic practice in Far North Queensland.
