Delissa Walker is a Kuku Yalanji woman from the Mossman/Daintree Rainforest region of far north Queensland, who weaves traditional basketry using fibres from the endemic black palm tree. Her pieces are included in the long water: fibre stories exhibition showing at NorthSite Contemporary Arts.
This practical workshop will focus on fibre skills sharing, focusing on simple weaving techniques using natural fibres.
