A group of esteemed artists with long associations with the KickArts Collective (est. 1992), have come together, donating their time and expertise to create highly collectable ceramic platters as a special commemoration of the first year of KickArts’ transition to NorthSite, and as a fundraiser in the lead up to the organisation’s 30-year celebrations in 2022.

Over 12 days in December, the NorthSite Art Market will feature 19 one-of-a-kind, ceramic platters, alongside a curated selection of new work by leading ceramicists.The NorthSite Art Market – Ceramic Edition is a fundraising activity to support NorthSite and local artists, driven by local artists.

Artists who have created unique platters for sale include Lenore Howard, Jenny Valmadre, Rose Rigley, Geoff Dixon, Andrea Huelin, Arone Meeks, Julie Poulsen, Ed Koumans, Robyn Baker, Napolean Oui, Roland Nancarrow.

Artists exhibiting in the fortnight-long market stall which also features a curated selection of artists currently working at TAFE Far North, Yarrabah Art Centre and Cassowary Kilns including Linda Gordon, Elaine Murray, Akiko Hanazaki, Kim Nolan, Kerrie Miller, Philomena Yeatman, Wayne Connolly, Gabrielle Cooney, Anne Jillett and Shireen Talibudeen.

NorthSite Art Market – Ceramic Edition runs from 11 to 24 December 2020 at NorthSite Contemporary Arts, with sales from all ceramic platters to go towards supporting local artists to present at NorthSite as part of the 30-year commemorative events in 2022.

A market day event with coffee cart and local music by Jelly Oshen will be held on Saturday 12 December 10 – 2pm. Come down, support local artists and pick up something special for Christmas.
